Alberta’s health care system is nearing a state of crisis. Health care spending has never been higher and yet, wait times continue to skyrocket. Despite the best efforts of our dedicated health professionals, the doctors, nurses, and health care aides, emergency departments are overcrowded, operating rooms are unavailable, and EMS response times are often dangerously high. We simply cannot allow this to continue.
A United Conservative government would put the patient at the centre of health care and empower them with the information they need to navigate the system.
For too long, health care decisions have been made by bureaucrats in Edmonton instead of the health care professionals serving patients on the front lines. Our health care system needs to be measured by patient outcomes rather than dollars spent.
